The early stages of menopause (known as peri menopause) can start early and extend the duration of this change for many years. The impact can be very real and can often reduce the overall quality of life for a woman. Our program has been designed to help manage the symptoms of menopause using natural products. Alongside the program we also have a product call Transitions, have a read of the following to see how this product may assist you: Transitions uses safety-conscious ingredients from plant based sources which work in harmony with a woman’s body to help provide relief from a range of symptoms associated with menopause. By combining the key effects of black cohosh, soy, dong quai and red clover, Transitions can help to provide relief from menopausal symptoms.
Traditional herbal remedies have found black cohosh useful in the management of pre and postmenopausal symptoms. Red clover and soy are a rich source of isoflavones which are ingredients that are similar to oestrogen and are phytoestrogens. Japanese knotweed is a rich source of the antioxidant resveratrol. Rich in hawthorn, Transitions can also help to maintain a normal healthy cardiovascular system in healthy females as they go through this transitional phase.
As a woman reaches the end of her reproductive years, the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen. As oestrogen levels decrease, menstrual cycles can become erratic until they cease completely, generally between the ages of 40 and 60. When a woman has gone 12 months without a menstrual cycle, menopause is said to have occurred.
A wide range of less than pleasant symptoms may accompany the transition to menopause including (but not limited to) hot flushes, mood swings, anxiety, night sweats, loss of libido, irritability, fatigue, hair loss, bloating, weight gain, headaches and itchy skin. Probably the most commonly experienced symptom though is hot flushes – a feeling of warmth spread over the body. This may be accompanied by perspiration or flushing. Although the exact cause is not fully understood, hot flushes are thought to be due to hormonal fluctuations brought on by declining oestrogen levels.
Stress and diet can also be common factors in inducing or worsening the symptoms of menopause. The adrenal cortex essentially takes over where the ovaries left off; therefore stress management and adrenal support are vital.
